Valpene Wind will be located in Kurzeme, about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Latvia’s capital city, Riga. Within the Valpene project, suitable wind conditions, as well as the favourable location have been assessed as outstanding.This will be the largest onshore wind park in Latvia, Valpene Wind is set to generate up to 900 GWh annually, representing a significant contribution to Latvia’s energy independence.
The local government of Talsi Municipality has approved the company’s initiative to initiate local territory planning, facilitating the implementation of the wind power project by SIA “Valpene Wind.” The project is currently undergoing an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
