About the Project
Øyfjellet is Eolus biggest project so far. It consists of 72 turbines and was put into operating in 2022. The project area is characterized by challenging terrain on top of a mountain, 600 to 800 metres above sea level, with excellent wind conditions.
The local aluminum producer, Alcoa, is buying all the power generated from the park in a 15 year deal, making its factory in the town of Mosjoen run on locally produced renewable energy. Eolus sold the park to Aquila in 2019.
