Eolus receives environmental approval for up to 35 wind turbines in Latvia
The Latvian State Environmental Bureau has issued a conclusion on the environmental impact assessment report for wind farms Dobele and Tukums, giving permission to build 35 of the originally planned 51 wind turbines. Of the 35 wind turbines 22 wind turbines could be built in Tukums district and 13 in Dobele district.
-The permitted number of wind turbines is entirely sufficient to make the project economically feasible, and we will go ahead with its further development. The environmental impact assessment report is a highly important step in advancing the project and we are very glad that the State Environmental Bureau has analyzed the planned wind farms’ operations and environmental impact in such a great detail. We will absolutely comply with these requirements, and we are confident that our project will set good practice standards for future wind farm projects in Latvia, says SIA Eolus board member Gatis Galviņš.
The next step towards launching construction of the wind farm is getting the local authorities’ approval for the project.
